Compare

Two states or two occupation groups, side by side. Rankings say which is larger; this says how they differ.

Notes

  1. State figures are sums of the regions Jobs and Skills Australia publishes, computed here. Their regions cover Australia exactly once, so the sum is well defined, but it is our arithmetic rather than a figure they released.
  2. The mix comparison uses only the finest groups the release carries. A parent group is its children added together, so including both would report one difference twice at two levels of detail.
  3. A group is compared only where at least one side advertised 80 of them. A share built from a handful of advertisements moves on a single posting, and the largest gaps would otherwise be the smallest samples.
  4. Changes are against June 2026. Two periods are a comparison, not a trend.
  5. These are counts of advertisements on a defined set of job boards, not of vacancies. How the figures are made.
